Man arrested after pointing gun at police during family disturbance response

 

According to local police, officers responded to a residence after receiving reports of domestic violence. Upon arrival, they spoke with a woman, who alleged that there had been family violence with her husband. When asked about the whereabouts of the suspect, she said that he was in the backyard.

As officers approached the backyard, the suspect appeared from around the house and pointed a firearm at them, challenging them to shoot. In response, the officers drew their weapons and retreated to a safe distance, establishing a perimeter around the property. After 30 minutes, the suspect was arrested. He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for precautionary measures.

Police say no shots were fired, and no force was used during the arrest. A police K9 unit was present to assist in containing the situation.
